JOALI Maldives: villas, prices and offers

JOALI's published offers start from US$2,376 a night, and its Festive Season Special from US$5,490 (joali.com, October 2026). That is the villa rate only, before a 10% service charge, 17% TGST and the US$12 Green Tax per person per night, and the return seaplane is extra: the MICHELIN Guide lists it at US$1,420 per adult. JOALI Maldives is on Muravandhoo Island in Raa Atoll, in the northern Maldives, about 45 minutes by seaplane from Malé (Velana International), where JOALI's hosts meet you in the arrival hall. Seaplanes fly in daylight only: JOALI transfers international arrivals landing between 06:00 and 15:30 Malé time and advises later arrivals to stay near the airport overnight. Going home, the seaplane suits flights leaving after 09:00. We time your flights around both. The island runs on Island Time (GMT+6), one hour ahead of Malé.

Yes: JOALI Maldives runs the Muramas Kids Club, free for children aged 4 to 12, with wellness activities for 10 to 12 year olds; under-4s must be supervised, and babysitting is available. Six villa and residence categories have two to four bedrooms, all with a private pool, and two of them have two pools. It is not a waterpark resort: the appeal is space, design and gentle programming.

JOALI Maldives bills itself as the Maldives' first art-immersive resort. It has commissioned works by more than 20 artists, including Porky Hefer's Manta Treehouse and Misha Kahn's Tropicana Table. There is an Art Studio with a Resident Artist, and the interiors are by Autoban. It leads on art and design. If an all-inclusive plan matters more to you, we will tell you where else to look.

JOALI Maldives has its own house reef, and a coral-restoration programme that has planted more than 10,000 coral fragments. Further out, JOALI lists 38 dive sites between 15 minutes and an hour away by boat, with mantas and grey reef sharks among them. If snorkelling straight from your villa is the priority, tell us: we will say honestly how this reef compares with the others on your list.

JOALI Maldives has four restaurants plus Mura Bar. Saoke, overwater and Japanese, is our pick for the signature dinner. Bellinis is Italian fine dining. Vandhoo serves Southeast Asian, Chinese and Indian food at breakfast and dinner, and TUH'U serves Levantine food on the sand under the palms. Mura is the pool bar, with a whisky and cigar lounge, and La Joie makes chocolate and ice cream. Board is bed and breakfast or half board. There is no all-inclusive.

Every water villa at JOALI Maldives has a private pool: all four water-villa categories, plus the overwater Three Bedroom Ocean Residence, which has two. In all there are seventy-three villas and residences in 11 categories, every one with a private pool and a Jadugar, JOALI's word for a butler. Inside, they run from 100 square metres for a Water Villa with Pool to 500 for the Four Bedroom Beach Residence with Pool.

Forbes Travel Guide rates JOALI Maldives Five-Star for 2026, which JOALI says is its fifth year in a row. The MICHELIN Guide 2026 gives it One MICHELIN Key, MICHELIN's distinction for hotels, judged on architecture and interior design, service, personality, value and setting. The Key recognises the stay, not the restaurants.
