How we choose
How we select the resorts we recommend.
Twenty-one resorts across six atolls, and no two are the same trip. Velaa is a private island of 47 villas; JOALI Being is built around wellbeing; the two Emeralds run an all-inclusive plan. The transfer runs from 20 minutes by speedboat to 45 by seaplane. Which one is yours turns on the details below, and when one is wrong for you, we say so.
- The villa
- Which way it faces, how private the deck is and whether the pool is yours. JOALI names one water villa category for its sunsets; elsewhere we confirm the pool category by category before you commit.
- The transfer
- Seaplanes fly in daylight only. JOALI's meets flights landing between 06:00 and 15:30; land later and your first night is near the airport. We check your flight times before we shortlist.
- The water
- At some islands the house reef starts at the beach; at others the best snorkelling is a boat ride away. We ask how much the water matters to you before we shortlist.
- Children
- Kuda Villingili has villas and residences of two to four bedrooms; kids' clubs and lagoon depth differ just as much from island to island. We match them to your children's ages.
- The board
- Breakfast only, half board or everything included changes the price and the mood of a week. JOALI's half board covers breakfast and dinner, not the drinks. We price the options side by side.

02 Which resorts do you cover?
As of November 2026, we cover 21 luxury resorts across six atolls: Raa, Baa, Noonu, North Malé, South Malé and Dhaalu. Among them are JOALI Maldives, Soneva Jani, Velaa Private Island, Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi and The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli. 03 Is there a fee for planning a Maldives holiday with Volans Voyages?
No. There is no planning fee and nothing to pay when you enquire. An enquiry is a conversation, not a commitment: your specialist listens first, recommends three resorts with reasons and confirms the price for your exact dates. When you decide to go ahead, a small deposit holds your villa and the balance is due closer to travel.
04 Is it cheaper to book through Volans Voyages than direct or online?
Yes: through our partnerships with the resorts, we offer lower rates than booking direct or through a booking site, confirmed for your exact dates. There is no planning fee on top. Your quote itemises the villa, meals, transfers, service charge, TGST and Green Tax, so you can compare the whole price like for like before you commit.
